ESG Leading Enterprises 2025

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) has transformed from an optional extra to an indispensable component in businesses’ investment and operational strategies. Governments and enterprises respond to the urgency for climate action by actively supporting energy transition and sustainable finance. Multinational corporations are now conducting more rigorous audits of supply chains to ensure the effective implementation of ESG practices.

With escalating global concern towards climate change, enterprises face rising pressure to decarbonise. As enterprises strive to meet increasingly robust ESG regulations and consumers’ growing demands for more sustainable practices, AI-powered solutions become fundamental to enterprises’ energy management strategies, allowing them to craft informed and data-driven climate policies. On 16 November 2024, the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) hosted the inaugural Digitalisation Day and launched the COP29 Declaration on Green Digital Action, highlighting the opportunities in harnessing digital technologies for climate action as well as the environmental impact that increasing AI usage poses.

In the regional ESG landscape, Hong Kong is spearheading the development of green and sustainable economic activities and working to align its policies, financial system and regulatory framework with international standards. To promote greater transparency and accessibility to ESG information of enterprises, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has implemented climate disclosure-related amendments to its Listing Rules, and has adopted the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards published by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) since January 2025. In October 2024, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) launched the Sustainable Finance Action, calling on all banks to strive to achieve net zero in their own operations by 2030. Most recently, the HKSAR Government launched the Roadmap on Sustainability Disclosure in Hong Kong, providing a well-defined pathway for large publicly accountable entities in Hong Kong to fully adopt the ISSB Standards no later than 2028.

As one of the most influential business magazines in Hong Kong with a global vision and Greater China connection, the Chinese Edition of Bloomberg Businessweek maintains a keen focus on the development of ESG. We are delighted to partner with Deloitte again in co-presenting the seventh ESG Leading Enterprises. For the first time since its inauguration, the event this year is open to entries from non-listed enterprises too. Enterprises of all sizes are welcome to showcase their ESG achievements through this event. The judging panel this year will comprise elites in the field of ESG, including industry leaders, scholars and researchers, to ensure a professional and fair assessment process that adheres to ESG-related international standards.

近年來，ESG已從企業選項轉變為全球投資與經營策略的核心要素。各國政府及企業均積極應對氣候變化、推動能源轉型與強化可持續金融機制。大型跨國企業開始採用更嚴格的供應鏈審核機制，以確保ESG目標的有效落實。

隨著全球對氣候變化的關注日益增加，企業面臨著越來越大的減碳壓力，以符合政策法規並滿足消費者的環保要求，人工智能（AI）應用逐漸成為企業碳排放管理的關鍵工具，提供可行的數據驅動解決方案。2024年聯合國氣候變化大會（COP29）首次設立「數碼日」，並發布「綠色數碼行動宣言」，強調數位工具在應對氣候危機中的潛力，並聚焦AI發展對環境的影響。

在區域層面，香港正加快推進可持續發展和綠色經濟，並在政策、金融、監管上進一步對接國際標準。目前，香港交易所已修訂《上市規則》中披露氣候資訊的相關要求，2025年起，香港已正式採用國際可持續準則理事會（ISSB）發布的可持續財務信息及氣候披露準則，以提升企業ESG資訊透明度。此外，香港金融管理局（HKMA）在「可持續金融行動計劃」中訂立銀行業在2030年起達至營運淨零排放的目標後，特區政府亦推出《香港可持續披露路線圖》，就大型公眾責任實體於2028年前全面採用ISSB準則提供路徑。

作為區內具國際視野及影響力的財經雜誌，《彭博商業周刊/中文版》一直聚焦ESG發展。我們將與德勤攜手舉辦第七屆「ESG領先企業」，並將首次邀請非上市企業參與，無論企業規模大小，均可透過本活動展現其ESG實踐成果。今屆評審團將匯聚ESG領域的精英，包括業界領袖、學者及研究人員，確保評選過程專業、公正並符合國際標準。

ESG Leading Enterprises

In recognition of listed and non-listed enterprises incorporated in Hong Kong with the best ESG performance in their respective industries.
Participating listed enterprises are divided into the following two categories according to their market capitalization^:

▶ Category I: Market capitalization over HK$12 billion
▶ Category II: Market capitalization below HK$12 billion

^As at the company’s recent financial year-end date.
